OLPC 2009 XO deployment in Ethiopia

We are two members of a team selected by OLPCorps to deploy 100 XO laptops to the rural part of Ethiopia at Hamle 19 primary school, Asella city, Arsi zone, Oromia state for children of aged 6 to 12.

He is attending a master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering at Dalarna University, Sweden since August 2008. He has graduated with a B.Sc. degree in industrial engineering from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia on July 2003. He also has attended a first year graduate program in 2007/08 on industrial engineering at AAU, Ethiopia. He is certified with computer maintenance and networking, total quality management and integrated performance management. He has worked at Hormat Engineering factory as a technical expertise and manager in different positions as well as a computer instructor at different colleges for four years ( Nov 2003- Nov 2007)

Demerew Ketsela Tesfaye is a master’s student on Network Services and Systems program at School of Electrical Engineering, KTH, Sweden, since August 2007. He received Master’s Degree in Computer Science 2007 and Bachelor Degree in Applied Mathematics 1999 from AAU, Ethiopia. He is certified on CCNA1-4, CCNP and Oracle10g Database Administration. He worked for five years (2002-2007) at EEPCo (Ethiopia) as programmer, database and network administrator and as par-time computer science lecturer at different colleges.
